A lost quarter

We attempted to ring a quarter peal today at Blackburn. The 576 was rung without much incident and only a couple of putting people right moments. At the end of the second part of the 720 the two, three and four got muddled and we struck rounds a few changes later at the home. There hadn't been any time to put people right.

What should have been 1,296 Cambridge Surprise Minor was only 1,056 :-(

1. Ian Smith
2. Frank N G Anderton
3. Matthew Warburton
4. Nick Harrup
5. Jean Barnes (c)
6. Raymond A Hutchings

Better luck next time.

Chester and the sun

Has to be said that Chester really enjoys a bit of sunshine when he can get it. Here he is enjoying a brief burst of sunshine between the heavy rain we have been having.

He will normally work his way down the sofa to keep in the sun for as long as possible.

The new camera

Today we went through the process of buying a new camera for Donna. Last time we tried this it was a complete disaster. . .

Donna's first, and last, digital camera was an Olympus Camedia C50 zoom and she fell in love with it. After Richard dropped it onto the corner of the Great Pyramid at Giza she needed a new one. They didn't make them anymore and repair was too costly.

We replaced it with a Canon A560 which came to be known fairly quickly as "that stupid camera". It wasn't helped by a fault that drained the batteries in a couple of hours and made the camera run hot.
It took me a couple of months to get the hint and in the end we ended up getting the Camedia repaired. As an "insurance" against future problems we also bought two secondhand Camedias from eBay.

But alas, all have now reached the stage where they are beyond economic repair.

Visiting Archie

We went up to see Pam & Chris today. They have a new puppy called Archie.

When we saw him he was eight weeks old and this was his first day at home. It sounds as if he kept everyone awake last night crying for his mum.

Am I too old for this?

So after many years of being a technology geek and user of all things Apple I have decided to try blogging. I'm not sure if this a really a very good idea and at the moment I don't really know what I am doing.

But hey, nothing ventured is nothing gained.
